DescriptionA terrific Willard Mullin boxing cartoon, featuring both Jersey Joe Walcott and Archie Moore. Titled "The Axe for an Axion", Mullin was commenting on the old adage of sticking with the champion until they're dethroned. The fight that Mullin mentions at the end, George Araujo vs. Jimmy Carter, ended with Carter retaining his crown. The cartoon appeared on June 11, 1953.Social/Sharing |
