Description

I had some goals when purchasing this Flash page. It had to be from the first 3-4 years of Carmine's run. It had to be inked by Joe Giella (perfect pair!). It had to show Flash in action and also have some close ups. In this case, I wanted to make sure Elongated man was present. I also love resolution and end pages.

This close up does 2 things well: It shows the famous flash speed lines cleanly and adeptly executed. And it also shows a glimpse of the enviro that shows off Carmine's interest in architecture (Granted they are far off, but very silver age!)

A defining Flash image.

Whenever I commission a speedster I request "Infantino speed lines."

Infantino's unique architectural designs made him instantly identifiable to a 7 year old who wanted to run as fast as the Flash.

That youngster grew up to be a marathoner... wonder who was his earliest influence? :)

I like that you broke this out for us to see. Sometimes a "Great" panel can get a bit lost in a page. For the same reason I broke out a close up of one of my favorite Kubert panels. Love the speed lines, background city-scape, and the wonderful foliage. Great piece!!!
