Description

So, what if Blackest Night happened in the 80's?

I came up with this idea when I was thinking of what spin to have Darryl Banks do, and since I didn't want to just drop Kyle Rayner in there, I still wanted it to be Lantern related. I had been working on getting a piece done by Scott McDaniel that involved Kraven and the heroes in their 80's costumes, and thought I would stay along those lines.

I imagined a "Lonely Place of Dying" Dick Grayson being frustrated over finding his parents killer, and then finding out that his partner (in MY Spider-Wing universe) had been killed. Overcome with rage, he dons a red power ring and raises his "dead" friend, making the black costume "Kraven's Last Hunt" Spider-Man a Black Lantern.

I see Nightwing as being more Blue Lantern than Red Lantern (or possibly Star Sapphire, but that's a whole different type of commission ;) ) but this is excellent!

Normally yes, but I thought the rage of going after his parents killer and finding out his friend was killed would turn him into a Red Lantern...for a short while.
