Update: Veteran inker Bruce Patterson has added his finishes to this drawing. I present the 'before' and 'after' for your viewing enjoyment.

Previously...

This commission was planned and arranged (twice -- it's a long story) by Damon Owens, the keeper of the Brotherhood and one heck of a generous guy.

In addition to many other fine qualities, Mr. Owens has a keen eye for high quality Marvel Two in One scenarios. For this drawing he asked artist Tod Smith to re-visit Marvel Two in One # 40, featuring the Thing and Black Panther against Nightspawn, the Zuvembie (this from the period in time when the word 'zombie' was forbidden by the Comics Code).

My sincere thanks to Damon. This is a terrific, unexpected gift.

This is a great piece. Love the Patterson inks. I had forgotten the Zuvembie era. It was kind if silly. I agree that Damon O is a pretty decent fella! Congrats on this!

I'm very fortunate to have guys like Brian Sagar among my comic art collecting brethren. Bruce Patterson did a phenomenal job over Tod's incredible pencils here.
