i can't believe i got such a good deal on this. when i picked up a commission from adam hughes in 2004, allison sohn was wearing a cool t-shirt with a spacewoman on it. she told me all about andrew bawidamann and led me to his web site, www.bawidamann.com.
i bought a couple of shirts from him and a sketch of a pirate girl, and i was fortunate enough to meet him at SDCC 2004.
i don't believe this exact image has been published. andrew has a piece very much like this in his "Axis and Allies" sketchbook, but the woman's insignia and uniform have been toned down significantly. maybe she reminds too many people of Major Hochstetter from "hogan's heroes." that's one theory, i guess.
