Description

It is such a thrill to own a pencil drawing by Neal from this remarkable part of his career. No one ever used a pencil like Neal did/does, and this is a wonderful example. I always loved his Tarzan paperback paintings. This prelim for one of the best of the series is a real inspiration.

It measures 8.5 by 11, on standard typing paper. In the final version, Tarzan has been turned to face the reader. I suspect either Neal or the editor thought the hero should be face front, if possible. I own the subsequent revision, as well, which reflects the final, painted image.
