Description

This Marvel Two-in-One Annual # 2 commission was penciled by Jim Fern (Spectacular Spider-Man, Classic X-Men, L.E.G.I.O.N.) and inked by original MTIO Annual 2 creator Joseph Rubinstein (Wolverine Limited Series, Micronauts, Captain America, etc, etc).

MTIO Annual 2 is often cited as one of the best issues of the series, and with good reason. The now classic "cosmic" story of Thanos versus Spider-Man, the Thing, and the Avengers is terrific, the artwork of Jim Starlin and Joe Rubinstein is gorgeous, and... well, let's just say that lots of good stuff goes down before this book ends.

Jim Fern sent me a scan of the pencil artwork back in March 2005. He wound up doing a wonderful re-interpretation of Jim Starlin's cover to the actual issue. A completed package of inked artwork arrived from Joe Rubinstein in October 2005.

The finished product looks stunning... but you can see that for yourself.

Very cool! Jim Fern is yet another underrated artist. It's always nice to see new stuff by him. He did a fine job on this.
