Description
At the last good Equicon put on by my then good friends, John and Bjo Trimble, they had some pieces for sale which had been left unclaimed at previous Equicon auctions. I bought several for ten dollars or less. They included this 18" by 24" work by William Dixon. It was my first original piece of good girl art and the last I would buy for a long time. This Burroughs-inspired piece is supposedly in a published portfolio of Dixon's work. I still think it is charming though the lady's reaction to having a huge, fierce seamonster come up within feet of her seems more like how a normal person would react if a koi fish jumped in front of them. A charming and naive piece that was on my walls for many years and is the only piece on any of my internet galleries that is not on display presently.
