DescriptionWith 300: Rise of an Empire coming out today I thought I should give a shout out to the original and the series that started it all.I read the series and loved the movie. When the opportunity arose I had to go for it. The series and movie really struck a nerve with me. I think it is one of the best combinations out there and something I can read or watch endlessly. Not every movie lives up to expectations but this one did. One of my favorite and most memorable quotes from the series and film. "The Immortals We Put Their Name To The Test. It's Slippery Work"" Seeing Leonidas flying through the air and the Spartans taking the Immortals to task is just fantastic. Thank you Mitch for allowing me to add this to my collection. This one is not going anywhere! Great Synopsis of why to read this series... Just cut and paste.. http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2007/03/08/comics-you-should-own-flashback-300-2/ Social/Sharing |

Epic pick-up Ray, nice work! Couldn't agree more regarding what you said about the film/book - one of the best adaptations I've seen.

Bottom right corner...Ouch! I don't care if you're an Immortal, that's gotta hurt!

Great spread! I think that movie actually made some improvements on the comic (which of course was great)

Love the extreme right foreground shot of the Immortal getting a spear through the eye. Really gives weight and scene setting for the page overall. And of course 300 era Frank is great!

This is just simply sensational! Rarely do I see a piece I am truly jealous of from the modern era, but this is truly it right here.

As an artist Miller was really firing on all cylinders with 300. As much as I love sin city it was great to see Miller draw for color again, using more closed line work than he had in quite awhile.FM's line work is incredibly appealing here. The Diagonal format of the entire book made for a wonderful reading experience and really highlighted Miller's strength in composition. I would love to see it used more. As has been said by others, this is one of the best pages in the series. Congratulations Ray.

Such a great Miller DPS! I love the way Frank reinvented himself so many times in his career. From Ronin to SIn City to DKR to 300, each time he found a fresh style that allowed him to tell a unique story. He's a master of the medium, IMHO, and this is a fabulous example of his creative genius!
