The series is also included in the book "1001 comics you must read before you die". Since the author expresses more eloquently the strength of Risso's art than I ever could, here is an excerpt from the book:
"Eduardo Risso's drawings are extremely expressive, with a heavy use of black for large areas, as shadows and facial expressions are often distorted or parts of the action obscured by the choice of the point of view. Eyes blue, veins are visible, noses are broad and broken, and clothes are draped and folded in impressive ways in order to help shape the characters and their environment. The exaggerated depiction of bodies and slight disproportion of faces only make the people appear more believable, in such that readers can almost smell the blood, sweat and tears gushing through the story."
