Description

Iron Man #1 Cover Re-creation by Gene Colan penciled then finished in acrylic paint by Gene in 2001. I was a huge fan of Gene's as both an artist and person and was thrilled when the brief window opened for me to recently acquire this piece.

This is the same piece previously posted by Gene on this very site several years ago while still in his personal collection. It was eventually sold during a fund raiser prior to Gene's passing in 2011, since acquired by me, re-matted and framed as depicted in the additional photo attached. I have also included a wonderful photo of Gene holding the finished art, clearly reflecting its provenance.

Matted to an exposed image size of 20" x 27".

One of the highlights of my collection, I feel privileged to be the current caretaker of Gene's extraordinary masterpiece, true to the original in every detail. Gene painted his signature along with the year 2001 into the lower right hand corner.

spectacular! I can't think of a Colan item I'd rather own that this cover (with the exception of Daredevil 38).

A real classic by Gene and the acrylics are scintillating! Indeed this one is a genius made creation.
