I know. Yes, it's odd :)

One of the things from the first run of New Warriors I always liked was their Forever Yesterday storyline. Okay, maybe the storyline wasn't -that- good but it did introduce a whole bunch of cool looking alternate Middle Eastern / African versions of the main Marvel heroes as well as a female version of the classic Nova / FF villain the Sphinx. Some really great design work from Bagely on that one. ~Love~ to be able to own that splash page :) Anyway, it'd just stuck in my head that I wanted to see the Egyptian version of the FF take on the female Sphinx. Once I started to see Thanos's work I knew I wanted to have him draw it. _Very_ pleased with how it turned out. The Thing, alone, looks fantastic :)

And now it's been "upgraded" for 2014 :) Javi's been doing some great, great coloring work and I was really happy that he was interested in coloring this one for me. Made even sweeter by the fact that he not only remembered the Forever Yesterday storyline but was also a fan :) And while I admit that, being an old man, I usually prefer Javi's old-school versions this time the modern just "pops". I've got the old-school version below if you wanna check it out.

Javi always delivers amazing colors! Being that the storyline in NW is more recent((if you can call the 90's recent),I prefer the modern colors to this piece Kevin. It's always awesome that Javi provides both versions. A great piece made greater with color! Congrats!
