PUNK ROCK JESUS 2008 Promotional art (first mention / appearance)

I originally saw this piece in a January 2009 CBR.com interview Sean Murphy. Sean first mentioned PRJ and stated, "I'm not known as a writer yet. Hopefully that'll change. When I'm done with 'Hellblazer' I'll do whichever DC script is ready to go. After that, I plan on doing my next OGN titled 'Punk Rock Jesus'." - CBR.com (JAN 29, 2009)

Sean did an amazing job handling covers, interiors and writing duty on this book. Many thanks to Jason and Sean for making this early concept and promotional piece possible! Check out the color promo piece below. The first issue was released a few years later on July 13th, 2012. This piece was also used in the Punk Rock Jesus Hardcover extras released November 2014.

Fantastic drawing! Love SGM's design sense. He certainly has achieved his objecctive of becoming well known as a writer... I think he's currently the best in comics
