Description

A few months ago, I had discussed with Elsa about the possibility to create a series of complementary portraits illustrating the Four Elements, mixing Comics style and Romantic influences with strong mythological overtones... Well, as convoluted as it sounds, Elsa enthusiastically took on the opportunity and, starting from familiar comics female heroines, managed to bring them up to new scales, pushing her own artistic boundaries at the same time! The end result is a joy to behold, even if my scans barely do them justice!...

On top of her great work, Elsa was kind enough to send me some of her prelims, which she gerally does not share. Among them was this incredibly delicate Full Pencils rendition of Caļssa, the Earth... I feel privileged! And if you tell me you see quite a few notes of Barry Windsor-Smith in there, I will certainly agree!
