Description

I recently found a "How To" blog on the Comicon International: San Diego web page, with monthly updates posted by Katie Cook, giving a step-by-step guide to drawing different characters. (There are some pretty BIG steps sometimes between two steps.) I've drawn a few of the sketches following her steps, and it's been fun. One thing I started thinking about, as I was looking at the Katie Cook "How To" blog, was how the dinosaur looked like it could be a (very) young Godzilla. With a new Godzilla movie out, and lots of Godzilla-themed editorial cartoons, I started connecting the cute, young dinosaur in the blog with the ferocious Godzilla of the movies. I thought perhaps the cut, young dinosaur could be a very young Godzilla, which in turn got me to thinking, if the young, happy, cute Katie Cook dinosaur was a happy critter, what could turn him into the ferocious Godzilla of the films? My love of The Simpsons kicked in right about that time, and this sketch is the result.
