Derek Wildstar - Susumu Kodai - Star Blazers - Hiroyuki Kanbe

I had a chance to go to FanimeCon today and was able to get this quick sketch from Hiroyuki Kanbe, who did storyboards for Space Battleship Yamato 2199. He was doing pretty much the same quick sketch unrelated to Yamato for everyone but when I asked him to sign my Space Battleship Yamato 2199 artbook, he wasn't sure what he was signing. He checked the book out and figured out what it was and then someone pointed out I was wearing my Space Battleship Yamato shirt. So I showed him my shirt and asked if he would do mind doing Kodai for me (with a hopeful shrug) because he wasn't taking requests. So he motioned for me to pull down my shirt straighter and he a did a quick sketch from the shirt as a reference. The people with him were really excited he went off the cuff. Some got up to take pictures and I was told I got a special one vs what others got, so I am pretty happy My first artwork from someone who has worked on any of the shows! I also got all the Star Blazers pins from Kimono My House including a Star Blazers shirt based off the Argo Press Star Blazers Comic #0 cover!
