DescriptionThe Chuckling Whatsit was originally serialized in an anthology called Zero Zero. For each new chapter Richard Sala drew a "splash" (large) panel of art with the chapter number in it. And that would be the opening page of that chapter, along with the title (often pasted on) and a hand-written description of what had come before (often written separately and pasted-on). And finally, another small square drawing was added to the upper left corner (representing something that had happened in the story). The main drawing is ink on bristol, but some have the title pasted on, some have the lettering pasted on, etc. (All of this art was later reprinted in the book version, minus the text).Social/Sharing |
