Description

I have had this image in my head for years. MC Wyman did a great job bringing it to life.

This piece is inspired by two Strange Sports stories: the baseball game between heroes and villains from DC Superstars Giant 10 as well as the Gorilla Wonders of the Diamond from Brave and the Bold 49. The template for the cover itself is Action Comics 389, "The Kid Who Struck Out Superman."

Beppo the Super Monkey is the pitcher, Mogo the Bat Ape is the catcher, Ultra-Humanite is the batter striking out, and my old favorite, Monsieur Mallah of the Brotherhood of Evil is the umpire.

This is so " out of left field " in concept & Characters but it is a True Home Run in it's execution . Well Done.

Wyman knocked this one out of the park (to keep the baseball metaphors going). An outstanding piece.
