Description

This is one of a series of paintings I'm doing on music. The text reads: "Jacob settled himself to read. It was the only thing that seemed to keep his hands steady. He remembered how it felt to play. But the fox said the pain was too great. Jacob had to agree. He would dream, of course, of the decades he played with blood and the fire. His five fingers, cramped around the neck of the guitar. He would wake to find the blood gone. "The fire always remains," Jacob said. 1963
