2000ad, prog 136, 27th October 1979.

Mr Mitchell has the dredded lurgy. A 2000ad fan didn't think his work would "attract much interest at any price" and Case Files 01 did not include his cover in its cover gallery despite it being the first Dredd cover of 2000ad.

But nevermind -- lovely pages, pleasure to see, etc.

Wow, you have the whole story. It is bizaare that the guy who had the first Dredd cover is so unappreciated. Not the first time that the crazy guys who reprint the stuff show their snobbery. The same thing happened to Belardinellis work..
