DescriptionI tracked down Kevin back when Iron Man 2 was out and commissioned him to make this for me- since then, I've seen him use the same pose for other people commissions but I think mine was first- he seemed genuinely suprised that someone would track him down via email for a sketch and did not know what to even charge me!In truth, I think he charged too little. Heck of a nice guy too- he sent me prelims via email and everything! I'm very happy to have one of Kevin's sketches framed on my wall- for those not in the know, he designed the War Machine, Hulkbuster and several other now-classic Iron Man armors- and is, to me, right up there with Bob Layton as one of the all-time Iron Man greats! This piece is pretty huge too- 11x17"! Social/Sharing |

Funny story. When I first met Kevin, I asked for an Iron Man and War Machine back to back, and then he showed me your art piece and did a quick sketch for me referencing this piece. It's a great piece you have there. Mine was very rough so I decided to have Mike Decarlo (who worked with Kev on comics in the 90's) ink it and requested smoke to cover the feet.

It's actually very cool that we have a matching set- I had assumed that yours was a later version because Kev had mentioned that he had not done the characters in ages- and because yours is so much more refined. I just thought he'd gotten back into the groove and detailed yours more! Thanks for letting me know- your piece is excellent, BTW!
