DescriptionWhile DC's !mpact line had more than its fair share of problems (like being a kid's line in the midst of the rise of early Image) there were some bright spots. Those early Comet, Jaguar and Fly issues were some fun reads. I was only around for a few months before taking my money and interest elsewhere but as a fan of the Mighty Crusaders I've kept a few good memories.Having gotten commissions from other Crusaders era's I've often tried to think about what could be done with these. One of the problems is that while I think the Crusaders are cool their villains have a tendency to be kinda crap :) Realizing, though, just how 90's DC these versions are it seemed like a cool idea to have them meet DC's Monarch. As I'd already had an early Crusaders line-up meet Kang it felt like a nice little bit of symmetry. MC's been turning out some great commission work via his eBay auctions (been really impressed with the ones he's done for Aidan's Legion series) and he seemed like the right artist to hit up. Very pleased with how this turned out. Great sense of the power of Monarch and a great face on the Fly, plus the Shield might look better here than in his original !mpact appearances :) Original size 11x17. Social/Sharing |

I'm willing to bet that almost NO ONE has commissioned this version of the Archie/Red Circle heroes. You are a visionary, and Wyman did an outstanding job here.

Incredible job by MC, I'd like to him take a second crack at the Crusaders at some point in the future.

Another winner from Mr. Wyman! Who would Monarch be on the Crusaders' earth? I'm guessing the Black Hood.
