I was hooked on Michael Wm. Kaluta's art with the first example I ever saw, much like Frazetta's. Mike did some incredible covers for the Conan the King and King Conan series. I contacted him directly with the hope of buying the painting for The King is Dead. He did not have that to sell but offered this one. I had only seen the printed cover, of course, so I was beyond excited when this arrived in the mail. It was like a completely different painting! This is one I have very keen regrets about for letting it go.
