Description

Svetla Radivoeva is a character animator at Walt Disney Feature Animation Studios with credits on Wreck it Ralph, Frozen, and Big Hero 6. I didn't know the piece was by a Disney artist at the time of purchase, but I just love the image. The Secret Art Show solicits art done on 4x6 boards, but the artist’s name is signed on the back. Buyers can purchase up to 10 pieces at $40 each.

My friend John bought me a ticket and drove me to the Secret Art Show, a charity effort by the Burbank Arts for All Foundation to raise money to support arts education in local public schools. As the evening began, Drew Struzan and his wife showed up. When asked about signing, Drew produced a Sharpie from his bag to show he was ready and willing. When John left to fetch some books from his car, Drew turned to the three of us looking on and said: “I don’t know you fellows.” He reached out to shake hands and asked us for our names. That’s how I met Drew Struzan.
