Doctor Spektor Issue 04 - Page 06

I'll be honest. I've not been a fan of the new Doctor Spektor series. Never seemed to be going anywhere and the delay in the last issue coming out made me think (on cynical instinct alone) that it was hastily being rewritten. It just felt like it shoulda been a running subplot in the other books. Especially disappointing because Mark Waid was writing it. I figured I'd at least get a solid story. But anyway ... I was happy to see the nods to the original series in the new one's last issue. The first 6 pages alone made the fan in me happy. And I was -very- happy to be able to find Roberto Castro and find that he had those pages for sale :)

This is the sixth page from issue 4. A flashback to the original series #15 ("The Brain of Xorkon") cover which is hands down my favorite of the series. ~Love~ the center panel with Doctor Spektor "leading" the other Gold Key heroes Magnus, Doctor Solar and Turok. Honestly, drop the shaved sides, hire Josh Brolin and do a good Doctor Spektor movie!

I also want to say a special thanks to Roberto. Great guy! Loaded up the package with lots of extras and got the art shipped overnight(!) from Mexico. Class act.
