DescriptionMy first Spirit of 2015 purchase. A perfect, perfect Spidey by Mike Mayhew. This was a redux image for the cover he did for for ComicBox, France's premiere comic magazine.I saw it in his gallery, among other pieces, inquiring after a few...and decided (agonizingly) on this one. I was just in time, as he was about to list it as NFS, as he was going to frame it for his son's room.... He was generous enough to this Spidey and art fan to sell it to me. (Don't worry, he said he has a Superman he can use for his son's room instead. :) Thanks again, Mike! He was even kind enough to sign it in the same blue. :) This will be framed and hung...I already have the spot picked out! :) Social/Sharing |

This is very tight and clean. Has a very "style guide" vibe to it. This is a quintessential pose for sure!

That's what I like to hear; "frame and display with pride". Although I have nothing of Mike Mayhew, the man's amazing talent hasn't escaped my notice. I see his style of art as a cross between Bob Larkin and Joe Jusko. And yet, he transcends to another level all his own. You made an incredible choice here. Spider-Man never looked more perfect. Thanks for sharing.

This simply is art as good as it gets. Great color and physicality as the web spinner swings from Mike's house to yours:-)
