Description

I was at a used book store and opened a copy of Out of Picture, the comics anthology by Blue Sky Animation Studio artists, to find this drawing of Granny by Dice Tsutsumi. This character actually appears in Out of Picture Volume 2's A Dream of Kyosuke.

Dice and his partner Robert Kondo created the animated short The Dam Keeper which traveled the film festival circuit in 2014 and was nominated for an Academy Award this year. Dice and Robert have left Pixar and opened their Tonko House production company.

The additional image shows a small sketch from Out of Picture, Volume 2 found in the same store. I believe this is the character from the Japanese book I Can Hear.
