Description

This page depicts a dream sequence involving Mr. Bishop/Hansel (how great are those names for the main antagonist?) haunting the dreams Nick. I love the interweaving of the Owl throughout the book as it is in his dream. Also, it's one of the few times we see Bishop/Hansel transformed into the Lovecraftian nightmare he truly is. Sean Phillips' work is very dynamic as evidence from his loose working style. He lays everything out in blue copic marker on a piece of art paper that already has the dialogue boxes printed in light blue line. Then he inks directly over the blue line, not requiring any pencils. I guess when you've been in the biz as long as he has, you don't need it. He's masterful at depicting emotion with only a few lines.

Damn! Not many pages with the monster out there. I have to scan the ones I picked up. Some nice Jo shots but no Lovecraft.
