Description

This is one of two pages that I absolutely loved and remembered from the Black Canary and Zatanna: Bloodspell OGN, and (surprisingly) was very fortunate to find them still available from the lovely Joe Quinones.

I had ordered two pre-con sketches from Joe ahead of NYCC 2014 with intention of my fellow Aussie collector, Scott, to pick up, but Joe didn't complete the sketches until post-NYCC. From there, I was able to coordinate with him via email for which pages were available. Honestly, even if these pages weren't available, I would've been happy with anything from the OGN that had either character. Also, Quinones art is pure candy for the eyes, as every character expression just comes to life. Eventually, he was able to post it to me in Australia; what an absolute champion, and I will always have the utmost gratitude towards him.

Now, this page in particular is just full of raunchiness; during their plan to catch Tina (their body-possessing ghost villain), Zatanna transforms Black Canary into a Las Vegas showgirl with a spell. Now, to Canary's surprise, that transformation also includes an expected large bust, which she remarks makes her "...look like Power Girl". Canary laughs it off, and says not that she's complaining.

This golden (and sexual innuendo-laden) script and dialog from Paul Dini is just magnificent.

Please seek this book out if you haven't; you won't regret it.
