Man leaning back sketch by John Buscema

      When I was reading a large number of Marvel comics in the 1970's and 1980's, John Buscema was drawing many issues of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and Conan the Barbarian. He came out to San Diego Comic Con as a Special Guest in 2001, I think, when the John Buscema Sketchbook was published by Vanguard Productions. I sought him out for an autograph in the book and met him for the first and only time. Despite everything else that happens at SDCC, I'm grateful so many prominent comic creators came to California where I got the chance to meet them. At the Alameda County Library where I work, we have the Big John Buscema : September 17 - November 12, 2009 museum catalog from IDW.
