Description

Jae Lee was one of my first stops at Phoenix Comic Con. I asked him to sign an issue of Superman Batman and to my surprise his list was still open. I felt like a goon asking him for Catwoman but I really love the passion he brings to the character. Jae is very nice and answered many of my questions about his process. I watched him work magic with his brush on another piece and was in awe the entire time.

Jae's use of blacks and shapes is outstanding. Love the minimalist use of lines and contrasts to costume. Selina has a look of quiet introspection which I adore! I also feel like I can see the texture of the costume via the highlights which is very cool. Jae told me it was his favorite Catwoman he'd done in a while, so I'm glad he enjoyed revisiting the character.

Wow ! The expression on her face, and the rendition of her costume, are way beyond what I would have imagined. Beautiful, beautiful piece. Congratulations !

Jae has been on my short list of artists to catch at a con since I started collecting. Haven't had the chance yet. I absolutely love his take on Selina.

Super jealous of this piece! Hoping to find him at a con someday too. And I relate to feeling like a goon when asking for Catwoman from Jae (or Zatanna from Ryan Sook, etc.) ... still beautiful though :)
