Description

'Stand By Me' goes post-apocalyptic - the first appearance of the Dead Man. Straight away, of course, we have a major clue as to his identity – though I wonder if anyone reading actually looked at the last panel and immediately thought “Square pupils? Those eyes are artificial!” before reaching a correct conclusion. I’ve certainly never spoken to anyone who figured out who the Dead Man was in advance, but in retrospect, it’s all there in black and white. On a different note, I love the fact that Yassa pokes him with a stick – it’s exactly what any right-thinking boy would do in the circumstances.
