Description

Illustration on the inside cover of "School is Hell" book. Based on the date, this was almost exactly a year before the first Simpsons episode aired, and early in the third season of The Tracey Ullman Show shorts. So it was probably around this time that the deal was put in place for the series. Interesting side note, the cover of this book featured Bongo writing over and over on a chalk board "I must remember to be cheerful and obedient." Groening used the character's name Bongo as the name of his comic book line as well.
