Description

This piece appeared in the New York Herald-Tribune Sunday magazine This Week on June 16, 1935, and is captioned, "Received an Indian war-bonnet from the chief of the Ohowitchee tribe." The illustration accompanied a humorous Weare Holbrook column titled, "Onward and Upward -- and Sideways", featuring a Walter Mitty-like character, Ernest Guffington. Wonderful ink and watercolor work by Hay.
