DescriptionA mean-looking Captain Marvel ready to jump at whoever's throat (Maybe Thanos, just a guess...) with a background of stars and exotic planets, all this, courtesy of the Cosmic Code Authority itself: Mssrs Starlin and Milgrom! One of the things (among many) that I loved about Captain Marvel, when Jim Starlin took over, was his constant ambivalence between the cosmic all-seeing all-wise overseer and the Kree warrior that he had been from the begining. Here we get the gritty version and I'm happy to have the Gemini team reunited for that! And even though generally lesser things happened to him after Jim Starlin went away to reshape Warlock, I just wish he had not returned and killed Mar-Vell in a Graphic Novel emphatically titled "The Death of Captain Marvel"... Great great art, but... the story? Go on, I'm open to debate there! And, to name just one of my complaints (the big one, though,...), this book just killed the opportunity to bring him back later on, whereas Adam Warlock has such an elegant way of returning! That aside (and it's a very small aside!), I think this piece is very powerful and fully does justice to the good old Captain, the very very first cosmic hero! Oh, and be sure to check that Thanos portrayal by Jim Starlin that I've got for the other side of the confrontation... Social/Sharing |

Thanks! I'm sure this character will be re-evaluated even more in the months to come! Same, of course, for Jim Starlin's cosmic vision!
