Ah Comfort Love and Adam Withers. I've loved their work greatly since discovering them on deviantart. I've even commissioned Adam before for a Tomorrow Woman piece.

That being said it was fun seeing they were fans of Steven Universe. Which quickly escalated into this piece.

Rose Quart (Steven's mother) and Lapis Lazuli are two of the more prominent "side" characters of the series (if one can call any character in the series such). Many have speculated on how Lapis became trapped in her mirror, we know a Crystal Gem did it but not which. Rose has despite all her perfection began to be something of a likely suspect.

Not that I think she was evil or had sinister intentions but Rose was clearly darker than the show has admitted to so far. So I theorize Rose Quartz prior to the Rebellions official start was spied upon by Lapis who realized something was off. Leading to Rose taking Lapis out and trapping her to make sure no one could be warned of her coming Rebellion.
