Description

Scott Summers and Jean Grey strolling in Central Park in a 1960s-vintage piece by Steve Rude. This commission was loosely inspired by the iconic walk that Scott and Jean took in Central Park after Bobby Drake's birthday in X-Men #32 (May 1967) that was revealed (or retconed) to be the moment when the couple declared their love for each other in one of the flashback sequences in Uncanny X-Men #138 (October 1980). It's always struck me as a beautiful and important moment for my favorite Marvel couple. Thanks to Gerry Turnbull for the amazing colors!

Simply stunning. Rude is a master of showing heroes as regular people- more interesting in everyday scenes than most artists can do in action scenes Amazing addition to your collection!

Steve must have had a lot of fun with this one; the central characters are fantastic and he added so much detail in the background! Congratulations on an absolutely wonderful commission!
