Description

LANDON CHESNEY Dark Abbey Illustration for a fanzine (unpublished). This was done by Landon for a fiction zine I was SUPPOSE to publish but never did. Landon was an early comic fanzine artist and appeared in several issues of FANTASY ILLUSTRATED as well as the early issues of Overstreet Price Guide and a few ug comics. He was a terrific artist in the Johnny Craig style and SHOULD have be a professional artist. Sadly, he had no interest in doing mainstream comics and later in life diagnosed with either Chronic Fatigue or Epstein-Barr which explained a inability to finish art or work much at all the majority of his adult life. We kept up a long running correspondence over the years and he sent several pieces of art from time to time. He was a fine artist, an astute observer of comics and commentator on the work he loved -- early EC.
