Description

Original Art for page 4 of THE UNCANNY X-MEN # 401. Medieval castle in the background, Scottish breeze, we're trapped in Martinique Jason's - the Female Mastermind - dream prison. She's dreaming of serving in the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants alongside Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Toad. There are several medieval weapons hanging on the walls: "...a large room with various computer consoles scattered amidst the medieval décor (the kind of location super-villains used to congregate in during the Lee-Kirby days)" as Joe Casey's original script described it.
" Each of these characters are dressed in their most up-to-date costumes. This is the modern-day version of the classic Brotherhood of Evil Mutants line-up "(Magneto will arrive in the forthcoming pages).
In the final panel the romance between the Female Mastermind and Toad is starting, as they're already "exchanging a look of lust".
The UNCANNY X-MEN issue 401 had no dialogues: it was a silent pilot to the X-Corps storyline which starts here and ended in #406.
MAkes it an even more interesting piece of X-MEN to have!
