DescriptionThis DPS was quite an adventure. I got both halves of this separately 4 years apart. I first bought the Jean Grey half thinking it was a splash and not realizing that it was half of a DPS.A couple of years later, the full DPS was for sale, but it turns out that McLeod was experimenting with Duotone and photocopied the pencils to duotone, which was used for publication. Then 4 years after I bought the Jean Grey splash, the Beast half was being sold by someone, so I got it, even though it was only partially inked. Finally, 3 years after I bought the Beast "splash", Bob McLeod was at a local con and I brought the DPS to show him and asked him to sign. He offered to finish the inks and I said why not! The Jean half can be seen by itself here and the beast half is here Social/Sharing |

Fine piece. Lot's of different techniques and different levels of finishing. Tech pick!

Nice work. It’s a lot of fun to put two pieces together again.

Love the evolution of this piece, from half to whole, to complete. Congrats all the way!

Awesome! Congrats on finding the other half! I have a similar situation with a 90's Excalibur DPS!

Yup! The McLeod experiments threw a wrench in my collection too, about 30 years ago. I was buying up Dale's Hulk art and ended up with a cover and a splash that were part of Bob's photocopy inking. I was able to return the cover to the dealer who sold it to me, but lost money on the splash.
