Dave Gutierrez does it again. Man, I love this page. I told Dave how much I liked the fountain scene in Sandman #8 when our perky friend Death first enters the picture (yeah, I know, I really went out on a limb with that favorite moment selection). While Sandman adult characters are Sandman adult characters and Jill Thompson created The Little Endless, Dave has perfected The Adolescent Endless. We discussed depicting an earlier meeting with Death and Dream. Seemed like if they met there once, they probably had chosen that same location in the past. With that discussion, Dave came up with the page above. Wow! I could not be more pleased with the result. Absolutely fantastic. And Delirium to boot. Speaking of boots, while the entire page is detailed, I told Dave that the best part may just be Death's shoes. Who here ever thought about Death's footwear? Not me, and yet her comes Dave with the old school b/w Chuck Taylors. So perfect. I'll never be able to picture a young Death any other way. I'll post the watercolored final version in my humble Sandman section. Thanks a million, Dave!
