Description

As a part of working out plots for the Crusaders All-New Adventures covers I, as all good geeks do, started compiling lists of all Archie's super heroes. You wouldn't know it by looking at the 80's or any of the newer series but they actually have a whole mess of characters. So many that even including as many as I could in the Crusaders there were still lots left. As the idea of the Crusaders covers was to continue and "expand" the Archie universe it struck me that a companion series, like Marvel Spotlight, would be a perfect way to showcase the rest of their universe. Lots of bad series titles later the obvious hit me and Red Circle Spotlight it was.

The problem with playing with what Archie created is that they only ever had 3 teams - the Crusaders, Ultra-Men and Terrific Three. That's not much to work with. Especially as they have all these cool mystical heroes just sitting around. It was when I was flipping through the Merlin issue of Red Circle Sorcery (#7) when the obvious hit me - and the ~Red Circle~ were born. Adam had done such a great job on the Fly-Girl / Hawkgirl commission he did for me that I thought it'd be cool to see him do something on the magical side. Glad I did because this looks great~! A great job of differentiating Zambini and Kardak - two characters who aren't really all that different. Plus I love Shadowwoman's pose as well as Fu Chang's face. Some great work from Adam here! As always, I hope Crusaders fans approve :)

In This Issue ...

When Ashtoreth, the maddening elemental, threatens to return to earth it's up to the mysterious young sorceress known as Shadowwoman to gather Archie's greatest magical champions to defend the planet. But can the combined powers of Shadowwoman, Zambini the Miracle Man, Darkling, Kardak the Mystic, Gabriel the Rejected, Fu Chang and Mister Justice himself be enough to save the day?

I'm so glad you commissioned Adam, I love his Ragnar and Hammerfist there is just not enough of this guys artwork.
