Hawkeye #11 title card - David Aja @ Thought Bubble 2013

This was the year Aja and Fraction were tucked into the top corner of the hall, day one the queue was a disorganised nightmare, from what I could tell very few people were getting sketches from David. At the end of the day a dozen of so patient con-goers were given tickets for the next day, to get sketches from David. I got all my other table visits done on the Saturday and took a place in the queue behind the ticketed people for the whole day. My entire Sunday I was told that there was absolutely no guarantee that David would get through the ticketed list, let alone an extra at the end. I calculated that including the early start to join the front of the queue I waited just short of 11 hours to get in front of David with my request. I knew exactly what I wanted before the weekend began, the Hitchcock-esque title card from Hawkeye #11 reproduced. 25 mins before the end of the show my perseverance paid off and I got my sketch, met a ton of nice people in the queue that day, even the bloke looking after the queue was rooting for me by the end.

...to add more drama to my day I then went to the airport only to be told the flight was delayed, Southampton Airport would be closed and we were being re-directed to Exeter, adding another 4 hours onto my journey home.
