Description

In the news at the time this strip was published: During the last two weeks of February, 1945, the war in Europe had swing well toward the Allied invasion of Germany. Following the bombing of Dresden a few weeks earlier, the campaign against Nazi Germany continued to gain strength as the Allies advanced into Cologne, Germany, and across the Rhine River into central Germany.
