I finally got to meet John K and get a sketch from him! Ren & Stimpy in the '90s was so funny and unique. It was one of my favorite cartoons of the day, as was Simpsons. Well, thanks to Sac Con, I was finally able to meet John and get some art from both Ren & Stimpy and Simpsons! I ended up spending a large part of the con at John's table as he was kind enough to take orders for several of my friends who live in other parts of the country and never get to see him at a show, and I sat there watching him sketch them all! It was awesome! Big thanks for his patience and understanding as we all asked for something out of his normal stuff and he jokingly "got mad" with every "ridiculous" thing we requested haha. On the second day when I came back to get more sketches (this time for friends who saw my posts on FB) he even asked if I was getting them all for eBay, so he insisted on personalizing them to us with our names on each. Since we were getting them for ourselves, we didn't mind.

John does all his sketches on large 14x17 paper and likes to use cheap kid crayons and markers like Crayola packs and such. And every line was drawn in Sharpie with no preliminary sketching or anything. He would stare at the page for a second, then just start drawing. It was really cool to watch.
