Description

I am a big fan of Japanese illustrator Range Murata�s work, and he was a guest at the 2015 Kawaii Kon. He was originally just signing autographs, so I had him sign a piece of Bristol and also a book that he had for sale. I asked if he could have some kind of indication of Hawaii on it, which is when he wrote �in Hawaii� in katakana. Fastforward less than an hour later, and his autograph line was empty (kids nowadays prefer getting autographs of anime voice-over artists over an amazing artist like Range; go figure). Anyway, seeing as there was no one around I decided to take a chance and asked his translator if he�d mind doing a quick sketch for me. He was very hesitant to ask as he didn�t want to inconvenience Range, but he eventually relented and thankfully Range nodded! I quickly pulled out a piece of Bristol and he drew this for me. I�m calling it Hawaii themed as he added the �in Hawaii� again at the bottom. Anyway, a great quick headsketch from an amazing artist.
