Description

I love process pieces, and could not resist picking up this preliminary drawing for an editorial cartoon by the great Pat Oliphant. The envelope that the art came with is postmarked late April 1975, so the drawing that this was based on, if it was indeed used, probably came out in April of that year. That would have been one month after Oliphant joined the Washington Star, moving from Denver. Powerful drawing, doing more with less.
