Regarding this cartoon of Herb Trimpe by Marie Severin, according to John Romita, "The bathtub gag was the result of my trying to show how our lungs keep us afloat in water (swimming lesson). I pointed out proof when in a full tub and you inhale air, you float..Marie did the cartoon of Herb in a tub thinking he was about to drown and thinking to himself "damn that Romita and his theories"...she took joy in making fun of our rambling discussions while we were working...she was merciless."
