One of my favorite memories as a child was watching the old Max Fleischer Superman serials with my dad. So one of my goals for Animated Adventures was to commission a piece of artwork capturing Superman in the style of that series. While considering my options, Shane Simek pointed out a blog post from Gene Gonzales, where Gene was praising the cartoon. With Gene attending Heroes Convention in June, it felt like the perfect opportunity to make it happen. Gene was very excited to work on this commission, and it really shows in the final product. I was very excited when I picked it up at the show, and am really happy to have it in my collection! Thanks again, Gene!
