Description

Dave Cooper is a wonderful Canadian cartoonist and illustrator, whose work has both a strong edge and real vibrancy to it. While Cooper seems to be doing more painting these days, I'm most struck by his pen & ink work, especially those incorporating the red contour lines, as I�m offering here. There's a wonderfully animated bounciness to Cooper�s work, combined with a sharpish tone. This wonderful drawing is from Cooper's story, "Pip and Norton Go to Paris", which appeared in Mome #10, in 2010. In the illustration, Pip and Norton meet Robert Crumb as he crosses the street. They don�t realize it�s Crumb until two panels later. The caricature, traffic, and framing of this panel is quite remarkable, down to the figure on the right-hand side, which frames the entire image. Drawn on illustration paper, the piece measures 10�x9��, and is signed and dated under the drawing. The drawing is in excellent condition. $275.00 + 8.50 Priority shipping and insurance.
